I joined After5 as a way to find new friendships in the country I am now glad to call home - Rotterdam. This seemed like the perfect opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and surround myself with like minded women.
Booking an After5 edit table was the perfect plan for a Thursday evening! I met lovely women, especially two girls that love books and brunch, just as I do. The thing I loved the most is that, even when doing something out of my comfort zone, I felt at ease as soon as I started the evening.
Only at 21 and after moving countries I figured out the importance of female friendships. From my experience, I believe female friendships tend to be more fulfilling and long lasting. It is very rewarding to have women around you that can fully relate to your life experiences and provide support, guidance or just a good laugh whenever you need it. In a world that promotes female competition in all areas of life (e.g. work, dating world) it's essential for us to stick together and cherish our connections.
