After5 Sat Down with Nina Gademan in an Exclusive Interview

Nina Gademan is redefining what it means to step into one of motorsport’s toughest arenas. Currently competing in the British F4 & part of F1 Academy, Nina has already turned heads as the highest‑ever placed Wild Card driver. Proving she has the skill, focus, and fire to thrive in a sport long dominated by men.

Nina’s journey is more than just about speed — it’s about breaking barriers and inspiring the next generation of racers. Her presence on the grid is a statement: she’s not just here to race, she’s here to win.

1) As the highest ever-placed Wild Card driver in 2024, you’ve made a powerful statement — how have you managed to rise and stand out in such a male-dominated sport?

“I’ve been racing since I was five, always surrounded by boys. This environment never felt intimidating, it just felt like home.”

I grew up pushing myself in that space, not because I had something to prove, but because I loved the sport.
That drive to always improve, combined with the ability to stay focused under pressure — also to mention I love the feeling of pressure — has helped me stand out.

The Wild Card race at Zandvoort was a turning point.
I knew I had one shot, and I gave it everything. The fact that it led to a full-season seat just shows what can happen when preparation meets opportunity.

2) Representation matters. How important is visibility for women in motorsport, and what does it mean to you to be part of that shift?

“When young girls see women in motorsport, it tells them: this world isn’t just for the boys. It’s for anyone who’s got the talent and the fire.”

It’s incredibly important.
Being part of this is something very special. I know that by showing up, performing, and staying true to who I am, I’m helping to open doors for the next generation.

“And I’m not just here to fill a space. I’m here to compete, and to win.”

3) What does empowerment look like to you — both in the driver’s seat and in life beyond the track?

“Feeling empowered means being in control and knowing I belong where I am.”

It’s about being confident in who you are and not letting people’s opinions steer your direction.
It’s backing yourself, even when things get tough, and surrounding yourself with people who lift you up but also keep it real.

4) From family to your team, fans and friends, how has your support system shaped your journey and helped you grow as a driver?

My team plays a huge role in how I perform and how I grow.
They treat me like a racer, not a “female racer”. And that mindset is everything to me.

“There’s a mutual respect and trust that allows me to push the limits and stay focused.”

5) For women carving their own path — whether in motorsport or any other space — what’s the one piece of advice you’d share from your own experience?

“Just do it, no matter what’s scaring you. Fear is normal. Doubt is normal. But they don’t get to decide what you’re capable of.”

Overcoming my fear is what got me back into racing. Most of the growth happens right after the moment you wanted to hold back.

“So feel the fear, and go anyway. Remember, pressure is a privilege. Enjoy it.”
