When Nayeli (31) speaks about connection, you can hear the quiet confidence of someone who has crossed borders—geographical and personal—and found meaning in the spaces between.
The search for community
Born and raised in Mexico City, Nayeli now calls Amsterdam home, where she works as a Senior FP&A Manager at Timex Group. Her journey from one vibrant metropolis to another is marked not only by professional growth, but by a deliberate search for community. That search is what led her to After5.
“I wanted to connect with more women from different backgrounds but similar values,” she says. “Connection, ambition, empowerment—those are the things that matter most to me.”
For Nayeli, those values come to life in simple moments. A recent highlight with her After5 friend? Brunch and long chats—the kind of easy, unhurried conversations that turn acquaintances into real friendships.
This year, her goals reflect the same balance of depth and drive.
Personally, she wants to be more present in her relationships—both friendships and romantic ones—and to truly invest in the people around her. Professionally, she is working toward a Certification in Management Accounting, with a clear focus on succeeding and continuing to grow in her career.
Her ideal Sunday captures her perfectly: a blend of stillness and curiosity. Sometimes it’s a lazy afternoon at home, watching a movie with her partner. Other times, it’s stepping out to enjoy everything the city has to offer. For Nayeli, there is no single definition of balance—it’s about listening to what each moment calls for.
So why become an After5 Ambassador?
“I truly enjoy After5,” she says simply. “It’s a great tool to meet amazing women who inspire me. I wanted to get more involved and give back to the community.”
In a world where building genuine connections can feel increasingly difficult, Nayeli’s story is a reminder that community doesn’t happen by accident. It’s something you choose—again and again—with intention, openness, and heart.
